The regulator stuffing box is now rivetted in place on the boiler barrel with work currently taking place on fitting the mounting pads for the top feed clacks. The time draws ever closer when the barrel and firebox will be united. Machining of the firebox feet has taken place recently. The tea can tray has been fabricated and fitted to the firehole door support framework.
The crossheads for the piston valve spindles have been machined. The blast pipe casting has been machined. A small amount of vacuum pipework has been made.
Some items have been removed from the loco recently such as lubrication pipework in preparation for removing the water tanks which will be necessary in order to fit the boiler into the chassis.
The 82045 AGM will be held on Saturday the 25th May at 1.00pm in the meeting room at Kidderminster Railway Museum. Light refreshments will be supplied. Members information was distributed with the Spring Newsletter.
