Two rows of stays have been fitted into the firebox sides.
A pair of spare injectors have been temporarily fitted on to the support brackets in order to assist with pipe layouts. Our own injectors are partly machined but not yet complete. One injector is of 8mm size, the other is 10mm.
The water tanks will be removed one at a time for a short period in order to complete some jobs such as pipe support brackets and in the case of the right hand tank access to the inside is needed to fit the water level ball float mechanism. Manufacture of various pipe support brackets has occupied some time lately, not very exciting but necessary. Construction of the balance pipe between the two tanks is in progress.
Further work on cab window frames has taken place.
Some machining work on the carriage warming reducing valve was done some time ago and then suspended. A continuation of this job is now under review.
As a reminder, the 82045 SLT AGM will be held on Saturday the 27th May 2023 at 1.00pm in the large conference room in Kidderminster Museum.
Just to advise, the May update will be a little later the normal - holidays intrude!
